Girard Elementary School uses the computer program SNAP. Each child is issued a number that will be used throughout their career with the Dothan City School system. Breakfast and lunch is provided daily. Applications for free and reduced meals are sent home with your child. Breakfast and lunch can be paid weekly or monthly.

Lunch money is collected every Monday morning for the entire week or month. Checks should be made payable to Girard Elementary School. A separate check is required for each child in the school. Students will receive carryover credit for lunch when they are absent. A student who leaves school after lunch has been prepared for him, however, will not receive carryover credit.

Parents, please send lunch money in a sealed envelope with the following information clearly marked on the outside of the envelope:

  • Child's ID Number
  • Teacher's Name
  • Correct Amount of Money

Students who bring lunch may purchase milk. Carbonated drinks and meals from fast food establishments are not allowed. Drinks in glass containers are not allowed. Students may purchase additional items at lunch. Extra milk is $.45. Parents are welcome to dine with us from time to time. Please notify the teacher or call the office before 8:30 on the day you plan to visit.
